Honourable Chief Minister

Well, blogger has no personal grudge or hatred against present H’ble Chief minister of Delhi- Ms Shiela Dixit. Blogger just have one question about her statement that she made few months back!!

Few months back, one day, at night, there was a huge heavy traffic jam @Connaught place, the heart throb place of Delhi. Speed needle of vehicles didn’t move for hours. Traffic halted. Buzzing horns, flashing dippers tinted the ambience of Connaught place.

Next day, full coverage was given to this news. Media dragged the matter seriously; they spoke out the problems that people faced. Traffic police was questioned!! And why this matter shouldn’t be discussed? After all, it’s about the management of the capital city of the country.

To this news, Madam Shiela Dixit, made a comment-
When New York can afford to have a traffic Jam, then Delhi is not an exception!!”

What?? What was she talking about? was she alright? I was shocked. I was like, what the hell!!
I don’t know what made her say that, but she completely showed her potential or say, level of I.Q that time.

How can someone compare his/her own city with the city of another country? O.K, I agree, for some reasons, sometimes we need to compare; but hello!! Compare in some relevance atleast. You are comparing a city of a developing country with that of a developed country. Are you out of your mind?

To escape the situation, do we always need a foreign name, face or status to hide behind??

Heck NO!! Not again!!

At one point, when ‘janta’ (Indian people) demands something like that of foreign standard for the betterment of public convenience, that time, poor ‘janta’ (Indian people) gets a plain static response, which is “ our country is still developing, it would take time to reach the level of developed countries”

O.K, leave that too, why compare the problem only?? Why don’t you compare the city’s development with the development that is happening in New York?

Why it is never said that-
“New York is having smooth roads everywhere, so Delhi won’t be an exception too. “

Why?

Answer is simple; it’s the sluggish attitude of country’s administration. And Sheila Dixit is not solely responsible for all this, whole system is.

Until, this apathetical mask would be thrown out, we would continue to escape behind the curtains of reality!!

And it’s not only the system that has to improve, WE, ‘janta’ (people of India) also have to give our full cooperation.
I m proud to an Indian and would NOT step backward to work for the betterment of my country. WE need to conduct our responsibilities well.
Example:
Very easily WE blamed and questioned the traffic police when Jam clutched the city into its web, but WE forgot ‘this’ traffic police only, when WE were jumping the red light while going to the market.

So Gear up!! WE, too have to a role to play, so that in the game, when we would be questioning the few minds like that of Ms. Sheila Dixit, these people cannot question us back regarding our negligence towards our responsibilities.

  1. Aditi, am enamoured!!!

Remove your copyright from this particular post, so that all of us may imbibe in our lives...

Few years back, I was in Calcutta, when due to monsoon, the roads got flooded. And know what, the authorities said?

"When Shanghai, gets flooded... It's Kolkata!"

So, all the politicians have the same bloody Excuse!

I remember, when was 8-9 years old, Sheila Dixit was sworn in as the CM.
Every year on 5 june, the Environment Day, she goes to the Yamuna, takes a spade, touches the filth, and proclaims-

    "Lo! Yamuna is clean!"

    WE MUST ASK OURSELVES-

Aren't ten years being as the CM, enough to clean the river???

What do we do, when the Metro passes over the river?
Just that we become sad/furious/abuse the govt.

That is it. Nothing else, and we move on to C.P. to have a gala time.

Until now, we have been under the protege, of our older generations.

NOW IS OUR TIME! AND WE MUST DO SOMETHING!

Damn the govt.... Let us, all of us, be ACTIVE.

Let's outsource the cleaning of Yamuna. We don't need the money of the govt.
WE WILL GO DOOR-to-DOOR, every house in Delhi and NCR, to ask for CITIZEN CONTRIBUTION.

Estimated population of Delhi + NCR is around 1.5 crore.
If on a conservative calculation, 10% of them give Rs. 100(which isn't too huge a amount, to not give),

    Ladies and gentlemen-

    We have 15 crore rupees!!!

Not much, but WE CAN MAKE A BEGINNING!!!
And, when we begin, corporate donations, media... Everyone can jump in...

    Enough of govt. promises...

Last year, I made a flurry of applications through the "Right to Information Act"... Asking everyone-

From Delhi Jal Board, to the Environment Authorities...

Everyone, fudged my questions, giving lame excuses...

    Bureaucracy easily escapes...

    Let's not be sheep.

The Silence of the Lambs, is what these wolves want.

    Come On!

    Let's Do It.

Let's ideate, to finally swim in the Yamuna, before this decade ends...

Because we wasted the first ten years of the 21st century.
