I Win, but not ideally... ...

Ideally recalling how to win professionally,
Levels of self motives hit our mind.
Ideally recalling how to win personally,
Trying not to ever smell the broken relations rule our mind..

Evidently, this is not winning,
But even if it is, then at least not for me...

Every so often, sacrificing my presence,
Every so often, rally round for my close ones,
Not so often, needing a toast for my praise,
Not so often, I hoax around for my own sake..

I win, when my friends include me in their list,
I win, when my seniors appreciate me for the work I did,
I win, when I help the ones in need,
I win, when alone, I handle my fears and grief’s..........

Evidently, this may not be a winning for you,
But even if it’s not, but for me it is...

  1. Well... Hmmm... First things first. The poem, as always is great. You seem to have a great knack of winning over the self. With each poem, you get better of your previous creations. Forward ho!

    Now... Few points...

So, do you really win, when thy friends include u in their list(s)? Think again. What happens when they exclude you, even when, objectively speaking, ur a pearl of a being?
    Do you lose then?
It's not wise, to depend on other beings for their actions to make you feel winning and victorious.

One day, they have you in their list - U feel good.

Some other day, for the future is uncertain, they might cross you out. Then???

    And, are they really friends?

Same thing goes for the appreciation part.

Will it matter if noone praises, let's say, your poem. Will it still be not good?
Ask me, nobody reads my blog, as regularly as you do (though, even thou have great paucity of time), still, if I'm not boasting, they are at the most, fair creations.

Pause for a moment, and start doing any work, just to enjoy doing it, and not for the pudding you may get in the end. You'll feel stress-free.
Just excel in the work, praise and fame will be nothing but a mere consequence.

Lastly, at a deeper psychological level, if you see a criminal mind, you'd find, that there's a fundamental fear, which he/she tries to overcome by committing crime!

So, as you said it, handle the fears. Befriend them. Never try to defeat them, as they will, in any case, return n future, with a greater might.

    Rest assured.

  2. thanks that u all liked it:)
well, i would like to say something here for the question asked by you Bhavya
" what happens when they exclude me?"
well, what i meant to say was, when they include me in their list, yea i do win. But hey, i didn't talk about my defeat? I never said that I loose anything if they exclude or do not appreciate me..
well, its like this, defeat should always be taken as an invisible hurdle..
In small game of winning and lossing, just mark ur WIN, nothing else, because if u do that, then world would make u remember ur defeat more and more, and you would be pushed towards negativity.

so Just count ur winning strokes and try to vanish those invisible defeats... trick!! hahaha

  4. hahaha...nice trick!

According to me in life winning depends upon how we define it...for some people winning is just getting into the hall of fame but for some it is not. I would agree with ideatingfreak that appreciation is a mere consequence, no one except for us can decide whether we won or not. All that matters is that whatever we do we must enjoy it as much as we can.
But maybe that's how I think! /*bas bahut ho gayi philosophical baatein. I'm confused, I really messed up what I was actually trying to say*/

The most important thing is that you've got a really nice piece of work here and at the end all I want to say is 'thnx a lot'. :)

    Keep writing.

  5. Guys! Hang on!
Why are we so much worried, and care for winning???

Why not we have the same "anand" in losing???

We have to understand, that only when we face a loss, only then can we find a "win" good. Every thing in the world is based on the "Theory of Relativity"... You find person (read girl), good, only when there are other bad people...

So, let's just forget about the losses. But the important thing is to stay neutral when winning or losing...

  7. Nobody is worried about winning or losing(atleast i'm not). What i want to say is that it is us who decides at the end whether we won or not...we sure can have the same "anand" in losing too. Its all upto us.
Moreover the original theme of the poem was "In life winning is not everything", so i don't think that anybody is worried!

  8. And about that "/* */" comment thing...i took a C++ exam 15 days ago, so u can understand why...lol!

  9. 'losing' is a state of mind.

And i agree with some of the above comments. You learn more when you lose rather than when you win.

But we all have our own definitions of winning and losing so i am gonna leave it to that.
